MANHUNT
DISCOVERY / ART DIRECTION, DEVELOPMENT, PROTOTYPING, DESIGN
After the success of "Escape From Hell," Discovery asked us to create a promotional experience for "Manhunt." The show pits Joel Lambert, a former Navy SEAL, against teams of trackers and soldiers working around the clock to track and capture him.
We wanted to capture the essence of those heart-pounding, split-second decisions and present players with challenges based on real-world survival and evasion tactics. The end result was a node-based decision system where players would quickly test their knowledge in order to evade the enemy teams.
I art directed, collaborated with Ryan Wolper on design, and was responsible for the front and back-end builds of the experience. Craft CMS made serving up localized content for fifteen languages a breeze – although plenty of time was spent finding appropriate webfonts and testing layouts with varying text length.
We also got to research and play with GIS (Geographic Information Systems, or mapping systems!) and use that data in designing rich level imagery.
